Wonderfully Made

Psalm_139:14 (ASV) “I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.”

This is the psalmist thanking God for making him in such an intricate manner. The human body is amazing. Healthy water, good food, exercise and the right amount of sleep causes the body to heal itself often times.

In addition, God tells us in Exodus 15:26, (KJV), “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”

I made Italian meatballs today and used jar sauce and homemade sauce for a group of friends and my husband. We ate a salad that someone else made. I enjoyed the food. We worship God and we read Scripture and discuss what we read. Tonight we prayed over a situation at one of the couple’s church. What a privilege to get together with like-minded friends to talk about God and His Word. We don’t see each other often, but enough so that there is a trust built up. That is precious indeed.

It surprises me that I fret over whether the sauce will be good, the meatballs flavorful enough. Wanting to please and then, a  matter of pride, I suppose, kept me adding this spice or that sweetener or a jar of tomato paste and three parts of water.

The most enjoyable part of the evening was discussing how God does His loving part of keeping us in the faith and helping us to find our purpose in life:our works. Then we looked at Scriptures in Phillipians and Hebrews and elsewhere that tell of us choosing to turn from sinful pursuits and to walk in a manner worthy of our calling in Christ Jesus. Col_1:10 (ASV) says: “so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”

We have our part and God has His part in this relationship between Creator and His created. How marvelous our God is to love us and fashion us and to interact with us. Be blessed!
