Two Latest Reads

Last week, I finally read the third novel in the The River of
Time series by Lisa Tawn Bergren, entitled Torrent.

Torrent is published by David C. Cook publishers, Colorado Springs, CO and copyrighted in 2011. I went to the author’s website to possibly get a copy of the book cover and discovered that there are more books in the series! It seemed like it could end, but I thought, What about the Black Plague, historically known to be heading their way? What choices will the other family members make?

This book and the next one I’ll be mentioning offer action, intrigue and a bit of romance. I read Young Adult because that’s the genre I’m working on.

The book I read this week by Jill Williamson netted a book award, so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. By Darkness Hid was published in 2009 by Marcher Lord Press, Colorado Springs, copyrighted in 2009. Enclave Publishing is the new publisher of the book according to the author’s website. This complete novel ended with me wanting to know more. I’m so glad for sequels.

I’m not sure why I’m reading books that deal with sword fighting heroes and heroines, but that’s been the case lately.

In the spiritual realm, I’m aware of warfare in the heavens. The Bible is filled with it, especially in the book of Daniel.

When I’ve prayed lately, I’m praying on the Sword of the Spirit, (the Word of God) from Ephesians:

Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Eph 6:14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Eph 6:15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Eph 6:16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Eph 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

I really like the book of Ephesians. So many good books in the Bible.

God bless!
