Learning From History

I began reading another Bodie and Brock Thoene book this week entitled Second Touch from the A.D. Chronicles series. It was copyrighted in 2004 and published by Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., Wheaton, IL in association with the literary agency of Alive Communications, Inc., Colorado Springs, CO.

Part of the story deals with leprosy and its affect on major characters. I began to cry at one point and then decided to pray for a real situation. A young lady I know posted a prayer request on Facebook. She contracted the Corona Virus and wants prayer for the pain to leave and for her sense of taste and smell to return. So, I did pray and called other pray-ers from our church.

Before writing this post, I checked on the internet. Leprosy does exist in the world, but is treatable by antibiotics. If caught soon enough, there are little to no effects. If not, then there may be damage to skin and nerves, etc. We are blessed not to live in times of hopelessness for this dreadful disease.

I’m enjoying this book, Second Touch. I feel like I’m understanding Scripture better because of the examples of the Jewish and Roman cultures when Jesus was in Israel as a man in His early thirties.

I’ve not read the first book in the A.D. Chronicles series. I’ll have to search for a copy. Do you have a favorite author or two you’d like to name for us?

May God bless you!

“I Know the Plans I Have for You,” Says the Lord

I’m feeling overwhelmed today because my schedule is off and I’m missing friends. I made a list of activities to do on a four-quadrant sheet from 10 time management choices that can change your life by Sandra Felton & Marsha Sims, © 2009. It was originally published by Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, Grand Rapids, MI. Spire Edition published a paperback in 2015, and the quadrant paper is described on pages 128 and 129.

It helps me when I’m having an overloaded schedule. So, I prayed today, “God, what would You have me to do?”

I decided to finish a quilt today for a baby, which I started months ago. Two of my three attempts at it went wrong. That’s when I got wondering if I chose the wrong thing to put my hand to. Then, “write” came to mind. So, I put the sewing away.

I’ve been reading Lioness Arising by Lisa Bevere, copyrighted in 2010, published by Waterbrook, New York, NY.

I bought it over a year or more ago in Hobby Lobby, prompted by the Holy Spirit. Then last week, I read a book by Brock and Brodie Thoene, copyrighted in 1997, the first novel in The Galway Chronicles about people’s lives in Ireland, Only the River Runs Free.

Between reading the Bible and these two books, I got stirred up! God is a miracle-working God and He has a plan for every person’s life. (Jeremiah 29:11 ASV): For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.

Why did I choose to write out a four-quadrant list a few days ago? Because I wasn’t sleeping, I got up to talk to God and I felt as if He directed me to do about 10 different things.

At 1:20 a.m. I’m jotting down short sentences. “I want you to go to the store and buy grape juice to have communion with your friend.”

After a few more directions: “Make a list, and keep it before you-work your list. I will help you.”

Which I did and got some things done. Did I do it today? No, and then I felt down after reading Facebook earlier in the day. Maybe that’s why I’m writing, to be reminded of God’s plan for me today.

I know one thing, as I’ve been writing and typing, “Jesse Duplantis Live with Sid Roth” on YouTube has been airing, with two other men at the end of the presentation. I’ve been blessed watching that program, from 2017, I think, for the first time. I feel better when I include God in my plans.

May God bless you!

End Times Explained

I’ve been pretty much convinced that this Corona Virus is not as bad as publicized. I’ve been concerned at the curtailing of life activities. I happened to mention it to a foot Dr. in my little town and the Dr. got upset. “This virus is aggressive!”

So I stopped talking, because I didn’t think he would hear me.

I’ve been noticing a push for trusting in science all over the media. And that we’re supposed to wait for 12 months or more for a vaccine. Just 12 months or maybe 18 months housebound. What is that? Such a tiny amount of time-who are they trying to kid? Suicides are higher than ever. Then the threat that there will be a stronger or different variation of the Corona Virus. Fear, intimidation, treating people like sheep. I hope you’ll watch this video.

I saw a post on Facebook from a YouTube sermon on April 19, 2020 by Pastor Danny Jones: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=biblical+sermon+explains+lots

called “Biblical Sermon Explains Lots”.

Jesus said, “Come unto Me, all who are weary and I will give you rest.”

Not from suicide, that is a lie from the pit of hell. He gives you rest because He is the author of peace even in the midst of chaos.

God bless you, my friends!
