The Whole Law

Luk 10:25 (CEV) And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Luk 10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
Luk 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Luk 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Jesus said all the law is contained in these two commands. Love God completely; love your neighbor as you love yourself.

My husband says that God is concerned with two things: our relationship with Him and our relationship with others.

I listened to a pastor online from a mega church I heard about in a suburb of Buffalo. He spoke on Christians reading the Bible often and deeply. Then they should do their best to repent of wrong doing and obey the Word of God. What a difference that would make in the world. He was admonishing Western Christians to grow up. He reminded us that God will gladly help us to grow up if we’ll only ask Him to.

He said if you happen to be filled with the Word of God but your level of obedience to God is nearly empty, that’s worse than not spending time in the Word.

He was fired up!

So, I had much to think about today.

God bless!
