Write For Life

I set some goals to get my novel proposal done before October 28, which I’ve been meeting. I also decided to write everything for God a while back. It may not always be a Christian work, but it won’t be displeasing to God. I want to write words for life. Jesus said that He came to give life and that abundantly, John 10:10. When I die I want to stand before God and hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” In a parable, Jesus talks like this in Matthew 25:21, 23.

In Philippians 4:8 it says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

With all that’s going on in the world, I want to write about Jesus and the hope of knowing Him as Lord and Savior. This life is short and eternity is forever. When I hear that the city of Houston is asking pastors to give their sermon notes to the government in America, where there is supposed to be separation of church and state and I hear of atrocities around the world, I keep thinking the prophecies of Jesus’ soon return are being fulfilled before our very eyes.

If you write, do you have goals set? Are you working on them? If you are a Christian, are you thinking on positive things and praying for others and letting others know of the hope of heaven and the ability to avoid hell?

I wish I was better at it. I’ve been asking God to help me. The gospel is offensive, calling people, all people, sinners. I’m too much of a people-pleaser at times. How happy will they be if I don’t tell them in love of heaven and hell, and they end up in hell? Dear God.

Crossroads in Life

Have you ever come to a crossroad in life? Do I change jobs because I’m constantly at odds with the company’s policies? Do I continue dating this man or tell him we need to part ways? Do I continue to follow Christ when all my friends tell me I’m no fun anymore? Do I spend this money or save it toward a specific goal: education, better food, clothes, transportation, to help someone in need? Do I continue working tremendous hours or do I spend more time with my loved ones?

Life gives us so many opportunities. When a crisis hits, we can pivot and change priorities radically or in increments. Sometimes a crisis will so change us that folks that haven’t seen us in years will feel they don’t know us anymore. Tomorrow at church I am going to give a word that I’m sure God has spoken to me, in His still small voice. It is the second time I ‘ll say the same thing in a short time span. “I’m coming quickly,” that’s what I believe Jesus is saying. So many biblical prophecies are already fulfilled. His quickly may not be “my” quickly, but then again, it might be. So I consider my writing. Spend a ton of time on finishing my novel. Spend more time blogging. Continue placing ads for freelance writing for individuals or businesses.

What do you think? Part of the word is to stir up the gift within you that God has given you, now is not the time to lie dormant. Do you want to share your opinion?

Writing is a Joy

Writing for a few hours today took lots of concentration. I’m writing a chapter for a non-fiction book writing class. Although I’m under a deadline, I notice that thinking until my brain hurts and typing until my wrists ache doesn’t deter me from enjoying the process. Writing is fun, even when it’s hard to come up with ideas. Even when everything feels like it’s been said before. In Ecclesiastes, the wisest man in the world said, “There is nothing new under the sun.”

Writing books say, “You are unique. No one can say what you have to say because each person’s life is experienced in their own way.”

In other words, I am “new under the sun.”

Jesus said to repent and come follow Him. He came to give us life and that abundantly. He said the devil came to steal, kill and destroy. When I write, I feel the joy God intended me to have on this planet. When I read my Bible, pray, worship God, the devil tends to stay away. Yay!

I appreciate being able to write on WordPress.com and that Facebook allows it to be forwarded their way. I sent an editorial to our local free paper with my opinion that Jesus is returning soon. I gave my reasons. One of which is the tremendous number of prophecies that have been fulfilled. They chose not to publish it.

I’ve heard that the UN wants control of the internet. Post while you can. Read about Jesus while you can. Love God and others while you can. Thanks for reading, if you stuck with the post this far. Write with freedom, amen.
